Il revint en France comme directeur des usines de Fourchambault puis comme contr\u00f4leur sur les r\u00e9seaux ferr\u00e9s d\u2019Orl\u00e9ans, de l\u2019Est, puis fut charg\u00e9 des voies ferr\u00e9es en Dordogne et dans l\u2019Ari\u00e8ge. En 1903, il ressortit des cartons, les \u00e9tudes pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur la ligne d\u2019Ax-les-Thermes \u00e0 Ripoll. Ce projet sera alors promu par le ministre Delcass\u00e9, \u00e9galement d\u00e9put\u00e9 de l\u2019Ari\u00e8ge. Il se chargera du contr\u00f4le des Chemins de fer de la Compagnie du Midi et sera \u00e0 ce titre, secr\u00e9taire de la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation fran\u00e7aise \u00e0 la commission franco-espagnol des chemins de fer transpyr\u00e9n\u00e9ens de 1903 \u00e0 1906. Il fut mut\u00e9 dans les services hydrauliques du bassin de la Seine, pour laquelle il dut g\u00e9rer la crue historique de
